Issue No. 9: Grief as a Portal is a print anthology exploring grief as it shows up in our daily lives and shapes how we live, remember, and transform. Through photography, poetry, essays, and illustration, Issue No. 9 considers grief in its many forms — from death, dying, and personal loss, to ever evolving experiences with gender expression, climate loss, political upheaval, and societal change. The result is an intimate, visually rich collection reflecting what we carry and what we leave behind.
This issue is guest edited by author and activist, Rachel Cargle, and features musician, Raveena Aurora, on the cover, whose work explores loss, healing, growth, and ancestral connection. Inspired by the sounds of Bollywood, R&B, pop, and folk, Raveena speaks with longtime friend and memory worker Lune Ames to discuss ancestral guidance, loss, and decolonial healing rituals.
Also featuring contributions from groundbreaking artists Yolanda Hoskey, Shaniqwa Jarvis, Mahogany L. Browne, and more. Issue No. 9: Grief as a Portal is made to be read, revisited, and kept close. A printed record for your personal archive.
Expected delivery in early December 2026.
