My mother drinks boiled fennel seed water to reduce her blood pressure. After her heart scare, I started paying closer attention to the way she approaches her health. As a believer of nature's healing power, my mother is finding ways to manage her health using natural remedies, along with modern medicine.
About the Author
Jeyolyn Christi is a multidisciplinary artist and oral history practitioner who explores the intersection of storytelling and photography. Her creative work is both personal and communal, stemming from the lived experiences of herself and others. Jeyolyn has a professional and educational background in public policy and social service work. She holds a Certificate of Photography Skills from OCAD University and took part in the Centre for Oral History & Tradition’s Summer Institute at the University of Lethbridge. She is a member at Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography and the Oral History Association.
