Attia Taylor: What's your favorite self-care practice?

Katie Wells: My favorite self-care practice is spending 30 minutes outside as soon as I wake up each day just after brushing my teeth. Studies show that this helps improve hormones and sleep, and I enjoy the time in nature sipping some coffee or tea with my husband and kids.

AT: What is your favorite healthy food or recipe?

KW: My go-to healthy recipe is a huge salad almost every day for lunch. I start with all kinds of greens like lettuce, spinach, and watercress, and add a protein like sardines or leftover food I've cooked, and I top it with homemade broccoli sprouts, hemp hearts, nuts, seeds, and homemade dressing.

AT: Who has taught you the most in life so far?

KW: As cliché as it may sound, my children have been my greatest teachers. Not only in showing me a depth of love and strength that I wouldn't have known otherwise, but also because my desire to create a better future for my children and their generation is the driving force behind my mission and my business.

AT: What are your healthy living goals?

KW: My healthy living goals have shifted over the last couple of years, as I've learned more and more about how personalized health is for each of us. My goals now are to be functionally strong, have enough energy to feel great each day, and have my outer body reflect inner health from nourishing my body through food, nature, and positive movement.
