Female gender constructs are challenged in this photography series by Baltimore based and Philippines born photographer, Anna Divinagracia. In her photography series, Jezebel, she imagines the many roles that women sometimes choose or are forced into because of gender. Featured below are selected works from the series. It showcased for the first time at Jubilee Arts in April 2022. Jubilee Arts is a community program providing arts classes to the residents of the Sandtown-Winchester, Upton, and surrounding neighborhoods of Baltimore. View the full series here.

Divinagracia’s photography transforms personal experiences from both Baltimore and Filipino culture into intimate presentations of reality. Through her lens she creates a nostalgic narrative that explores themes of love, tenderness, family, and home that challenges issues of acculturation (adjusting to a new culture) and identity as an immigrant. Divinagracia is currently in residency with Creative Alliance
