LOOM is a “platform for sexual and reproductive wellbeing” offering health information that allows you to take full control of your health journey. Their new symptom checker is designed to help you learn about your body and access the care you deserve. Inclusively accounting for symptoms related to pregnancy, hormonal birth control, and hormone replacement therapy. Below is a guide to the symptom checker and more resources from LOOM.

What’s the Symptom Tracker?

LOOM’s new online symptom checker provides information about a variety of symptoms like anxiety, irregular periods, hair loss, and vaginal dryness. The easy-to-use online tool explains each of the symptoms and includes statistics about the prevalence of symptoms and who is the most affected. It also describes what might be causing your symptoms and highlights how common life events like postpartum and menopause can affect the body.

How To Use The Tool

The symptom tracker includes “Your Care Companion,” a free toolkit that provides a guide for building a relationship with your doctor. The guide has tips for choosing a doctor and talking to your doctor about your symptoms. The toolkit also includes scripts you can use when interacting with health professionals to support you as you advocate for yourself, your symptoms, and your wellbeing.

When to talk to a doctor about your symptoms

In addition to providing information about each of the symptoms, the online tool recommends when you should visit a primary care provider to talk about your symptoms. This can help you feel more confident when making an appointment, and the record of your symptoms will be a powerful source of information for your provider.

What type of health information is available on LOOM?

In addition to their brand new online symptom tracker, LOOM has various resources on their website, including information about accessing abortion pills and resources like the “Antiracist Prenatal and Postnatal Care Preferences” guide written by Erica Chidi and Dr. Cahill, an OBGYN professor and advisor to LOOM.
